Ordering
Placing an order is simple - if you are paying by PayPal, debit card, or credit card, you just browse the online shop and add your purchases to the shopping cart.
The website is set up to enable you to pay for your goods via the secure PayPal system. However you do NOT need a PayPal account to use this payment system - you have the option to simply pay by debit or credit card (via PayPal) when you reach the Checkout.
Alternative payment methods for UK buyers ONLY: If you would prefer to pay by personal cheque or crossed Postal Order - that's no problem! Please email first (rather than adding items to the shopping cart) to let me know what you would like to order and I will reserve the items for you for one week. For your security, please send cheques or Postal Orders by Recorded Mail so that you know they have reached me. I will send your parcel when the funds have cleared.
Please note that if you place an order on my other website (http://www.theverysmallcompany.co.uk) at the same time as an order on this website, I will send all your items together and refund you one set of P&P charges.
Postage rates
Within the UK
Except during holiday periods, I will usually post your parcel within two business days, unless you have paid by cheque or crossed Postal Order, in which case parcels will be posted when the funds have cleared. I will contact you by email to inform you when your parcel has been dispatched. All parcels are checked by two people and weighed after packing, and I obtain postal receipts that include the weight of the parcel as posted. Due to recent postal frauds, all parcels are now also photographed to show contents as packed,
UK postage is charged by band, based on net order value as follows:
* net order value less than £10, postage is £1 per parcel
* net order value from £10.01 to £45.99, postage is £1.50 per parcel
* net order value over £46, postage is £1.50 per parcel but you get an upgrade to Special Delivery
Orders with a net value of £46 or more are sent by Special Delivery, but this does NOT include guaranteed Saturday delivery; Special Delivery parcels posted on a Friday are sent guaranteed for Monday (or next available day following a Bank Holiday), so if you need your parcel by Saturday please order in plenty of time.
Please note that postal services (even Special Delivery) may be delayed during busy periods or bad weather, and that I cannot do anything if this is the case. Royal Mail do not consider an item lost until 15 working days have elapsed since collection from the sender's Post Office - they do not count Saturday as a working day.
International customers
I am happy to ship internationally, but international customers are requested to pay by PayPal only. The relevant postage charge for your World Region will be added to your order automatically, and I will send your parcel by an appropriate service. I will email to inform you when your parcel has been dispatched.
BFPO
I offer FREE postage for BFPO (Note: this will be in the form of a PayPal refund after you have paid for your order).
Same-day purchases from Hill Tribe Silver UK and The Very Small Company
If you place an order on both this website and my other website on the same day, I will send all your items together and arrange a partial refund on P&P charges if appropriate.
Wholesale orders
Please note that I am not currently in a position to offer wholesale ordering or large volume discounts. I have a number of "multi-buy" options available on the website, and regularly add items to the "Sale" page, so it's worth keeping an eye open!
